JESSICA ANGEL AND LUANDA PAU

Jessica Angel and Luanda Pau are London-based dance artists. Jessica has an MA in Creative Practice from Trinity Laban Conservatoire and brings a multi-disciplinary approach, working with movement, text, and image.  Luanda trained at the Escuela Nacional de Arte (ENA) in Havana and specialised in Afro-Cuban Folk dance.

Jessica and Luanda have collaborated over the last five years working on multi-disciplinary projects.  They are currently creating a performance that brings together dance, text, and image - and explores the body as a juncture for the everyday, the sublime, and science.

I spent my last ten years studying my voice and its connection with dance, acting, feelings emotions, body, and spirit. So I worked to know other techniques like Alexander Technique, participating in various workshops about acting, voice, and movement"

CARLOS CORTES

Carlos Cortes has worked at the international level for more than 25 years. After a career as a professional dancer, his practice developed through Visual Arts, Choreography/Direction, and Theatre Design. His award-winning work has been performed, exhibited, and published in several European countries and the USA.

 

Carlos has a strong interest in landscape, architecture, and participatory issues. With a broad experience of site-specific projects, his work investigates how people engage with their physical environment and with each other through movement and visual arts.

JULIE HAVELUND-WILLETT

Julie is a Danish Dance Artist based in Brighton. Her work spans choreography, performance, dramaturgy, and facilitation. She creates both solo work and, most often, in collaboration with others. 

All of Julie's work and research are inspired by her background in contemporary dance, aerial circus, acrobatics, somatic practices, and dance theatre. 

Recurring themes in her work include inversions, multi-media, perspective, play, site-specificity, and spontaneity. 

She has performed extensively in the UK, Italy, and Nordic countries, and taught across wide groups of people from families, to students, to professional dancers at places including Battersea Arts Centre Uffizi Gallery, The Place, V&A, and many more.

MARK DUNCAN

Mark trained in acting and directing at East 15, Birmingham school of Acting, Bretton Hall, The International school of Corporeal Mime, Sélavy Actors Centre and Stage Internazionale di Commedia dell’Arte.

As founder, performer and artistic director of Cornucopia Theatre and co-founder of Dragonfly Mime Theatre, X Moves the Bass Dance Theatre and Faceless Co, he has been creating and touring internationally with mask theatre, mime and carnivalesque performance for over thirty years. Mark has acted in numerous films, for BBC television and a string of theatre companies.

GAVIN SAVILLE

 

Gavin is a conservation scientist turned filmmaker. Once behind the camera, his role has been to translate complex concepts from clients like NASA'S Astrobiology Institute, the United Nations Environment Programme, to numerous charities, right through to live entertainment theatrical trailers for London's theatreland including the iconic Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap. His switch to the narrative is ongoing. He is an experienced Lighting DoP, Director, Producer, and Writer. He is also the director of Wild Indie, the director of Wild Indie Scifi & Fantasy Film Festival, and an instructor in historical martial arts (sword, spears, etc).

AGNE SOMATICAS (Siauciunaite)

Agne is a London-based arts practitioner, Creative Director of Offthe_Page Creative Practice, and dance artist from Lithuania. Graduated from UEL with honors 'Community Arts Practice', participated in numerous community-based projects, and worked on various TV and Entertainment projects. Agne searches for inspiration from already existing and new emerging movement practices along with other art forms such as site-specific, filmmaking, and theatre.

 

She is currently part of the 'Year of Making'  artistic residency, working on her professional dance and creative practice: Authentic Me. Her research focuses on individual journeys, feelings, and emotions. Exploring different ways how to hear what our bodies tell us. Inspired by somatic practices and the ability to access deep connections within our body and mind by using voice and movement

Founder of Offthe_Page Creative Practice. Graduating from UEL theatre, writing & directing Gareth continues to explore the arts in the TV Film stage and production as an actor and supporting artist, and production assistant featuring & working on over 200 different TV series, films, and adverts, corporate films, and internet broadcasts. 


Keen to continue his involvement in the industry with a craving to direct he was invited to join the Directors Cut at Southwark Playhouse where

he participated in 4 terms as a credited director.

 

His latest role-playing Sergeant Roberts in a recent nationwide odeon cinemas release short 'Lock Off' by Akwasi Poku
